Louis
Cèze -
or
how our Bergamasco-love started
Everything
began with him: Louis Cèze, how we called him according to
our annual summer residence, the little river Cèze in the south
of France, was a Bergamasco-Giant Schnauzer - Mix and simpla a unique
personality. He loved and adored his family - by especially my, his
mistress, with a touching excluciveness.
Louis
was absolute incorruptible - he disdained cookies from other people,
he tolerated their pettings but didn't like them, and EVERYBODY, who
came on our property, also people coming every day because they work
for my husband - was cornered and barked at. In addition he refused
to show people any signs of recognition, only to his family and some
VERY close friends. It really was like that!
Because
there were no flock to herd, he watched and guarded us and all kind
of groups, in which we where moving: bycicle tours, ski groups, school
trips, walking-tours.
Out
of our property Louis was always a very calm, friendly and well-balanced
dog, towards other male dogs absolute "cool" and souerior,
and he used to ignore raging attacs of little enemies such as Jack
Russell terriers completely.
But
lifelong he was a incorrigible lothario and philanderer - here a naive
painting of an deeply impressed campside-neighbour:.
